OC Lions Foundation’s Contribution to Team Sri Lanka

In partnership with the Sri Lanka Cricket Association of the Visually Handicapped, OC Lions Foundation provided essential support valued at approximately SLR 3 million, including:

  • Team uniforms and footwear
  • Travel clothing and footwear
  • Travel bags and training costs.

This contribution aimed to empower and uplift Sri Lanka’s visually impaired women athletes as they competed on the world stage.

Sri Lanka’s Performance

Team Sri Lanka delivered a commendable performance throughout the tournament, finishing fourth overall with 4 points. Their participation played an important role in inspiring many young visually impaired women across the nation to explore the sport.

A Milestone for Blind Women’s Cricket

This historic event not only showcased international talent but also significantly advanced the visibility of blind women’s cricket in Sri Lanka. The sport follows specialized rules, including the use of a uniquely designed audible ball and classification of players based on visual impairment categories (B1, B2, B3).

The successful hosting of the tournament—and the enthusiastic participation of Team Sri Lanka—marks a promising beginning for the continued growth of blind cricket in the region.
