Another Homeless Feeding Activity Completed Successfully
The OC Lions successfully completed their annual homeless feeding project on September 28, 2025, at the Sri Rathana International Buddhist Center in Anaheim.
This compassionate community service initiative has a proud history spanning over two decades, during which the OC Lions have provided meals to 500 homeless individuals each year, with the only pause occurring during the COVID years.
Organizing and carrying out such a large-scale humanitarian project is a truly commendable effort. This year, 500 food packages—each containing sandwiches, water bottles, bananas, apples, chips, chocolates, and pretzels—were lovingly prepared and distributed. These thoughtful meal packs brought comfort and nourishment to those in need across Los Angeles and Orange County.
The project was spearheaded by three dedicated youth project managers—Vidu Walahanduwa, Medha Walahanduwa, and Mihindee Hettiarachchi—with the support of their parents.
Many volunteers gathered at the Buddhist Center early in the morning, from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m., to prepare the meals together. Their teamwork and compassion turned the event into another memorable success, continuing the OC Lions’ long-standing commitment to service, kindness, and community care.
